Scholarships
AFWA Ames Chapter #158 has awarded chapter scholarships to local students since 1994.
The Chapter is proud to announce that, in addition to the Beverly M. Wandling Memorial Scholarship, applications were accepted for the first time for the Kathleen M. Strum Memorial Scholarship.
To be considered for the Beverly M. Wandling Memorial Scholarship, applicants must: 1. Be a resident of or attend college in Story, Boone, or Marshall Counties of Iowa; 2. Be a full- or part-time student with a declared major in accounting or finance in a two-year, four-year, or master’s program; 3. Be committed to the mission of AFWA and exhibit enthusiasm for the accounting or finance profession.
To be considered for the Kathleen M. Strum Memorial Scholarship, applicants must: 1. Be a non-traditional student; 2. Major in accounting; 3. Attend Iowa State University; 4. Support her family with one or more children; and 5. Be employed.

The 2016 Beverly M. Wandling Scholarships
were awarded in the spring of 2016 to Iowa State University students
Mitchell Arnold and Shelby Beilke. Mr. Arnold is an
undergraduate accounting student from Independence, Iowa, and Ms. Beilke is
a graduate student in accounting from Humboldt, Iowa.
AFWA Educational Foundation Scholarships
Each year, the
Ames Chapter may forward one or more applications to The
Foundation of Accounting and Financial Women's Alliance
for consideration for the Foundation scholarships.
In 2015, a Chapter sponsored
applicant,
Katelyn Pringnitz, Iowa State University, was
awarded an undergraduate scholarship from
The
Foundation.
